Things To Do: Summer

Summer In
New Meadows

Summer in New Meadows is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts, with endless opportunities to explore nature’s landscapes at whatever speed suits your vacation needs.

Hiking

By early summer, all but the highest-elevation hikes are accessible. Local favorites include Goose Creek Falls, Hazard Creek Falls, the Elk Lake Trail, and the Hard Creek Falls Trail. Bear Basin’s extensive trail system includes one show-stopper: the Grand Traverse trail offers peek-a-boo views and bursts with wildflowers in early summer.

Mountain Biking

Hit the trails at Brundage Mountain Resort for exhilarating mountain biking adventures. The Brundage Bike Park boasts 30+ miles of downhill, XC and multi-use trails. Thanks to the construction of the new B2BB Trail, mountain bikers can ride the Brundage chairlift to 7,640 feet and descend the super scenic, flowy downhill trails nearly 2,400 feet to the Bear Basin Trail system, which offers another 15 miles of single track. Goose Creek Falls is another popular ride close to the Heartland Hotel, and can be accessed from Last Chance, the Gordon Titus Parking area, or Brundage Reservoir. Closer to McCall, Ponderosa State Park, Jug Mountain Ranch and Tamarack offer a variety of mountain biking adventures.
